Chennai: The Year 2020 was the most challenging year in the history of Indian Police. The Corona pandemic challenged the whole world in unprecedented ways, however, our efficient Khaki force responded impeccably as frontline warriors. The prestigious Tamil Nadu Police Force is replete with heroic examples, wherein small, responsible acts of our policemen and policewomen have led to saving several precious human lives. Law and order maintenance, crime prevention and detection, traffic regulation, collection of intelligence, the imposition of Lockdown, etc. were all of the highest standards despite the pandemic woes.
The Good Governance Index released by the Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India rated Tamil Nadu as the numero uno state in ensuring public security for the year 2020 also. The hard work, commitment, and dedication of every policewoman and policeman have ensured that the public service delivery of the Tamil Nadu Police has been consistently best in the country.
A New Year 2021 is born and it will pose a number of fresh challenges. I am sure that our esteemed Tamil Nadu Police Force will rise up to any occasion and ensure that we will continue to win the hearts of the people of Tamil Nadu. As Head of the Police force, it is my duty to remind all of you at the dawn of a New Year that no public service is possible without the fullest public cooperation. Our actions should speak louder than words; let us strive harder in 2021 to win the hearts of the people of Tamil Nadu. I wish you all a very Happy New Year. May all your wishes come true this year.
