Coimbatore: A police bike rally was held in Coimbatore today to create awareness among the public about road safety. Road Safety Week is observed every year to reduce road accidents and create awareness among the public about road safety.
The event, which is held only 7 days a year, is being held for one month in the current year In Coimbatore, Road Safety Week will be held from the 18th to the 17th of last month.
In this, various road awareness programs are being conducted. As part of this, a bike rally was organized on behalf of the Metropolitan Police to create awareness among the people regarding road safety.
Coimbatore District Collector Rasamani and Coimbatore Municipal Commissioner of Police Mr. Sumit Charan IPS flagged off the rally. More than a hundred policemen marched through the city, carrying banners with road safety awareness slogans.
The event was attended by officials including Corporation Commissioner Kumaravel Pandian.
