Bhilwara: Bhilwara is a city in the Mewar region of Rajasthan. It is famous for Textiles. It has been termed as ‘textile city’. In Bhilwara, copper deposits are available and can be extracted through mining. In Rajasthan, copper deposits are located in the districts of Jhunhunu, Sikar, Sirohi, Udaipur, Bhilwara, Ajmer, Alwar, Bharatpur, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, and Dungarpur. With resources of 809.09 million tonnes, the State possesses a substantial share of 54% of the total resources of the country.
Since copper is an expensive metal people who are engaged in illegal activities are making illegal mining to steal the copper resources that are available in the state. Joint action is being taken continuously by the Police with the Mining Department against illegal mineral gravel transporters and miners and patrolling is being done continuously for the prevention of illegal mineral gravel transport and mining.
