Chennai: The State Government has imposed lockdown relaxations recently. Following this, Tamil Nadu Government ordered to open TASMAC shops in 27 Districts, including Chennai, from 14.06.2021. Following this, on the orders of the Commissioner of Police Mr. Shankar Jiwal, IPS, precautions were taken to control congestion and prevent the spreading of coronavirus. Further, a coordination meeting was held on 13.04.2021 with the police and TASMAC executives under the chairmanship of the Commissioner of Police and the Managing Director of TASMAC, Mr.L. Subramaniam, IAS, for the opening of TASMAC shops during the curfew with relaxation.
Mr. Shankar Jiwal, IPS, Greater Chennai Police Commissioner along with the Managing Director of TASMAC, Mr.L. Subramaniam, IAS, and officials inspected the TASMAC shops located opposite to Everest Hotel, EVR Road, Periamet, The TASMAC shops near Albert Theatre, Egmore, and Triplicane High Road and Ice House.
TASMAC General Manager Mr.Sugumaran, Additional Commissioner of Police Mr. N. Kannan, IPS,(South), Joint Commissioner of Police Mr. S. Rajendran, IPS., Deputy Commissioners of Police, Police Officers and Police personnel were present during the inspection.
