<![CDATA[MUMBAI: In a major breakthrough in the kidnappings followed by ransom through hawala channels, the city crime branch on Sunday got the custody of two gang leaders from Mathura jail. The Anti Extortion cell (AEC) of the city crime branch have taken over the custody of two kidnapping gang leaders from Mathura jail. Police have taken custody of Ifran Khan and Haroon Khan alias Chav Singh from Mathura jail. ``These two arrested are going to threw lights of several kidnappings they carried out in Delhi, Gurgaon, Mathura, Jaipur and Jaisalmar area.'' said a source. Duo's names cropped up during the interrogations of Sakib Jumma Khan who was arrested in December last year. Khan spill the names of ten persons including their main gang leader Ansar Alam Khan. However when the AEC went to Mathura and Jaipur trailing the accused,there was lack of help from the local cops and also the locals gheroed police team and the police team had to return empty hands. ``Since than we were looking for the accused but recently we learnt that the Mathura police had arrested them and hence we sought their production warrant and got their custody.'' added source. The case pertains to November last year when Jumma Khan posed as Rahul Jain and lured Hemant Parikh, a trader from South Mumbai by saying that he has seven tonnes of copper which he wants to dispose off at a throwaway price of Rs 3.50 per kg. He also invited Parikh wanted to his Gurgaon godown. No sooner did Parikh got off Delhi airport the accused under pretext of taking him to godown, kidnapped him on way and took him to Mathura by road where they tied assualted and demanded a ransom of Rs 30 lakhs. He was let off only after his family paid the money through hawala operator. Parikh is not a stray case as in July this year a Aurangabad businessman was kidnapped and was left after he paid Rs 10 lakhs. Police said the gang is operational in Delhi, Gurgaon, Agra, Jaipur and Jaisalmer and modus operandi is almost same.]]>
