Siliguri: A local businessman had registered a theft complaint at the Siliguri police station on 07.07.2021 which was registered vide Siliguri Police Station Case No. 741/21. In his complaint, Wahid Hussain, S/o Ali Hussain of Yadavpally, Siliguri said some unknown miscreants had stolen Rs3 lakh in cash and an OPPO brand mobile phone from his readymade garments go down located in Yadavpally, Vivekanandanagar, Siliguri.
Acting on a lead in the case provided by a source, a team from the Khalpara outpost led by SI Mr. Pappu Singh, O/C Khalpara OutPost, and Assistant Sub-Inspector Mr. Sanjay Hasda on Wednesday raided a number of places under the Siliguri, Pradhan Nagar, and Bhaktinagar police station jurisdictions and succeeded in apprehending five criminals.
The five have been identified as Md. Shoail, S/o Md. Abdul Kader of Adarshanagar, Siliguri; Md. Safizul alias Bappa, S/o Md. Aziz of Adarshanagar; Siliguri; Aslam Ansari, S/o Hafiz Ansari of Gandhinagar under Bhaktinagar Police Station; Ashiqe Khan, S/o Ajmulla Khan of Gandhinagar, also under Bhaktinagar Police Station; and Raja Sarkar, S/o Nikhil Sarkar of Baghajatin Muktamanch, Samarnagar, under Pradhan Nagar Police Station.
So far, the total stolen cash amounting to Rs.30, 000 has been recovered from the possession of the five arrested accused persons. All five have been forwarded to the Ld. Court with a petition seeking for police remand, for further investigation of the case.
