Siliguri: Acting on a specific input, a team of policemen in plainclothes led by Sub-Inspector Mr. Bapi Ch. Dey, along with a SOG team of the Siliguri Police Commissionerate, today on 08.07.2021 conducted a raid at the Kestopur More area under the Bagdogra police station.
They were successful in detaining two suspected drug peddlers, who, upon interrogation, revealed they had come from Naxalbari via Baramani Ram Jote. The duo were identified as Susanta Saha (23), S/o Sukumar Saha of Samarnagar, under Bhaktinagar Police Station and Santosh Das (32),S/o Amar Ch. Das of Namada Bagan under Pradhan Nagar Police Station.
On search of their persons, observing proper formalities, the police recovered and seized 150 grams of brown sugar and two mobile handsets from their exclusive possession.
A case has been initiated over the matter at Bagdogra Police Station, under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act, and further investigations are being done.
Both the arrested accused persons will be presented before the Ld Court tomorrow with a petition for police remand.
