Chennai: T15 SRMC Traffic Police Station Head Constables Mr. P.Lingakumar and Mr. M.Pechimuthu were on duty at Porur Chettiar Agaram Signal on the night of 06.07.2021. On seeing the Police, someone shouted to save him. Traffic Police Mr.Lingakumar and Mr. Pechimuthu intercepted the trio in the car and saved the person namely, Riyas Ali.
During interrogation, it revealed that Riyas Ali (M/39) was abducted by 3 persons namely Raja (M/ 31) of Karur District, Suresh (M/ 38) of M.G.R Nagar, and Saravanan (M/ 42) of Melpakkam. They were arrested and the police recovered one knife, one iron rod, 3 cellphones, and one car. Legal action is being pursued against them.
On 08.07.2021, the Commissioner of Police Mr. Shankar Jaiswal IPS personally invited the Head Constables Mr.P. Lingakumar and Mr. M.Pechimuthu and lauded their work by presenting them with certificates of appreciation and rewards.
