Rachakonda: In an effort to root out organized Human trafficking networks, running prostitution within the limits of Commissionerate and to create a sense of safety and security among the family system, College going students and youth not to fall into trafficking network, C.P. Rachakonda invoked the PD Act against two of the human trafficking offenders for organizing prostitution in the limits of Saroor Nagar Police Station of Rachakonda Commissionerate and detained them in Central Prison, Cherlapally and Special Prison for Women, Chenchalguda respectively.
The Organizers, Chandana Naga Ravi Raja, and Chandana Sunitha alias Anusha are husband and wife and have been running the clandestine business of brothel house in the limits of Saroor Nagar Police Station by procuring girls/women from Andhra Pradesh and other parts of the state through one by name Rekha. Thus, they are making easy money and living on the earnings of prostitution. They induce the girls on the pretext of providing employment, livelihood and later force them to do prostitution. They collect huge amounts from male customers and only give lesser amounts to the victim girls. Thus, they are living on the earnings of prostitution.
The racket was busted in a joint operation conducted by AHTU, Rachakonda, and Saroor Nagar Police and arrested the duo along with one male customer on 15-06-2021 and rescued one victim woman. They were produced before the Hon’ble Court for judicial remand on 16-06-2021. In pursuant to the remand order, they were lodged in jail.
With a view to prevent them from indulging in human trafficking, prostitution and to preserve public order, Mr. Mahesh M Bhagwat IPS, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda invoked PD Act against both of them and lodged them in Central Prison, Cherlapally, and Special Prison for women, Chenchalguda on 23-07-2021.
