Thiruvananthapuram: Tracker Dog Jerry was honored by State Police Chief Mr. Anil Kant IPS at his invitation to the police headquarters. The state police chief presented the DGP’s Comment Medal to Jerry. ADGP Mr. Manoj Abraham IPS presented cash awards to police dog handlers Mr. Vishnu Shankar VS and Mr. Anoop MV. Battalion DIG Mr. P. Prakash was also present on the occasion.
The court commended Jerry for helping police investigate the murder of a housewife in Kadakkavur. Jerry, a Labrador retriever, joined the Thiruvananthapuram Rural Police in 2016. During his five years of service, Jerry has helped prove several cases, including three murder cases within the confines of the Palode and Kilimanoor police stations. Jerry received the Medal for Best Tracker Dog.
