Siliguri: Today on 29/7/2021 afternoon, acting on a credible input, officers and men of SOG, Siliguri Police Commissionerate conducted a raid at the rented house of one Santosh Roy at Vidyachakra Colony, Bhaktinagar Police Station and recovered about 700 liters of Kerosene like liquid, packed in small plastic bottles and labeled as AASION PAINT THINNER, from the possession of accused. The accused persons were identified as Santosh Roy, Brijmohan Mahato, and Manoj Mahto all of Vidyachakra Colony, Bhaktinagar Police Station.
The accused persons were manufacturing duplicate paint thinner (“Tarpin Oil”) using liquid suspected to be kerosene oil, under different brand names and sell the same in the open market for their wrongful gain.
A good number of incriminating articles, like labels in the name of different brands, containers, etc., were also recovered from the premises.
A specific case has been initiated at Bhaktinagar Police Station against the arrested accused persons, and they will be presented before the Ld Court tomorrow. Necessary follow-up actions are being taken.
