Siliguri: Yesterday, Police officers of Siliguri Police Station under the supervision of DCP East conducted a raid at ONKAR LODGE, Hill Cart Road, Siliguri, and busted a prostitution racket that was being run in the lodge.
During the raid five accused persons including the manager of the said lodge namely: Md Mostafa (35), Akhilesh Kumar Mandal (34), Dipak Kumar (31), Kimar ( 31) and Bijay KR. Singh (31) all of Parwha, Forbeshganj Police Station, Arariya District, Bihar, have been arrested and taken into custody.
Four ladies, who were forced into prostitution by the Management of the aforesaid lodge, have also been rescued and taken into safe custody, as victims.
A case under specific sections of the ITPA Act has been registered at Siliguri Police Station. All the five arrested accused persons are being presented before the Ld Court today. Necessary follow-up actions are being taken.
