Tirupati: On August 6, 1980, a Naxal gang was arrested and while they were taken to be produced in court a bomb blast occurred in which Police Inspector Mr. Palanichamy, Chief Constable Mr. Murugesan, and Mr. Yesudas was assassinated.
Following this, every year on August 6, Commemoration Day is observed at the Tirupati City Police Station for the police officers who were assassinated by the Naxalites. Accordingly, the 41st Commemoration Day function was held on 6.8.2021 at the Tirupati City Police Station.
