Siliguri: On 07.08.21 at about 4:30 AM, acting on secret source information Officers and Men of the Detective Department and SOG of SPC intercepted one Tata Sumo vehicle, bearing registration no of Sikkim at the regulated market gate, Champasari Pradhan Nagar, Siliguri.
The vehicle was being driven by one Nima Dorjee Tamang of Mandi Bazar, Police Station – Rangpo, East Sikkim.
On search of the vehicle, the Police recovered the following contraband drugs: One cartoon of “Onereex” Cough syrup containing 144 bottles of 100 ml each and
One cartoon containing “Spasmo-proxyvon plus” Capsules containing 70 packets, each packet containing 06 strips of 24 Capsules (Total 10080 capsules).
On interrogation, the accused driver confessed that he had obtained the contraband drugs clandestinely, from a person at Rabindra Nagar, Siliguri, and was transporting it to Sikkim for supplying the same to his prospective customers.
Accordingly, the police seized the above-noted contraband drugs, and the vehicle, after maintaining proper legal formalities and arrested the accused Nima Dorjee Tamang.
A specific case under the NDPS Act has been started at Pradhanagar Police Station.
The accused person is being presented before the Ld Court today, with a prayer for Police Remand, for further investigation.
