Rachakonda: Traffic Marshals of Rachakonda Security Council (RKSC), a select group of civil society volunteers, trained by the Rachakonda Police, were felicitated by Mr. Mahesh M Bhagwat, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, and the Chairman of the RKSC for having completed all the 3 training programs organized by TTI and duly validated by the Traffic Forum Coordinator. The 45 Marshals were also presented with Appreciation Certificates for their service during the pandemic lockdown.
Commending the initiative of the RKSC Traffic Marshals, Mr. Mahesh M Bhagwat, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, and the Chairman of the RKSC said “Traffic Marshals program launched on 2nd February 2021 in Rachakonda and in last 6 months, they have done a wonderful service especially during the pandemic in assisting the Rachakonda police in the implementation of the lockdown and educating the citizens of the COVID-19 prevention protocols. It is heartening to see the group come together to take the message to the people by putting themselves to risk”. He narrated about the eight traffic police stations under Rachakonda where the Marshals could increase their presence. Appreciating the efforts of the volunteers for their efforts in supporting the law enforcement, Mr. Mahesh. M. Bhagwat IPS advised the Traffic forum to increase its numbers and drive more awareness in the public.
Dr. Raghuveer, the Coordinator of the Traffic Forum presented a comprehensive report of the activities of the Traffic Marshals and specifically spoke about the initiatives during the pandemic lockdown. He highlighted the Mega Drive during the pandemic, wherein the marshals headed to Choutuppal and spread awareness on adhering to COVID protocols and the special drive to induce traffic discipline in the Sainikpuri area.
Traffic Marshals Communication Head Mr. Venkatesh Parthasarathy welcomed the gathering and thanked the Rachakonda Commissioner of Police and the RKSC for providing a platform for civil society volunteers to serve the public through the traffic forum.
Mr. Satish Vadlamani, General Secretary RKSC, appreciated the Traffic Marshals’ initiative in serving the society during the pandemic and lauded their efforts in spreading the message of safety and security during the pandemic.
Mr. Mohammed Tajuddin Ahmed, former DCP Traffic, Rachakonda, and the founder convener of the RKSC Traffic forum expressed his happiness at the success of the forum and vowed to join the Marshals team.
Dr. Mohar. M. Ghosh, Joint Secretary, Road Traffic Forum, Mr. Samson Joseph, Inspector Traffic Training Centre, Mr. Gagandeep Kohli Treasurer, RKSC, and Mr. Sudhakar, Jt Secretary Rural Outreach, RKSC graced the function.
