Hyderabad: On 25-08-2021, the sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force, East Zone Team, Hyderabad along with Malakpet Police apprehended four criminals engaged as maidservants who committed theft of money from engaged house-Seized net cash Rs.4 lakhs and 5 cell phones from their instance.
The accused were identified as Kamal Shahi alias Kithne Shahi (M/35) working as Watchmen of Nepal, Bishal Shahi alias Sabeen Rana (M/23) working as a maidservant of Nepal, Prakash Padma Bahudur Shahi alias Prakash (M/39) working in Chinese Fast food of Nepal, Manoj Kumar Rawat (M/36) working as cook of Nepal. The accused who are absconding are Bhupin, Ashok, Mrs. Reka, Chandu alias Chandra Prakash.
The Police seized net cash Rs.4,00,000/-,Cell Phones (05) from their possession. The criminal record of Kamal shahi who is the prime accused has a case registered in Abids Police station, Hyderabad city, and is absconding since the commission of the offense. Wherein the gang comprising of 5 members committed House burglary and stolen property worth Rs.1,19,10,000/-.
The laborers migrate to India from different parts of the state and neighboring countries and get engaged as maidservants, Security Guards, caregivers for the elderly in middle-class households, and domestic helpers in major cities like Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bangalore, etc., They enquire about the financial status of the owners and engage more members as a maidservant/ Helper to senior citizens and security guards. They come along with family to give a sense of trust to the owners.
Meantime they work with dedication and collected the entire information of valuable items of households and movements of the owner. They communicate with gang leaders through social media. One fine day in the absence of the owners they will loot the valuables of households. Likewise, various gangs committed theft of valuables in and around Tri Commissionerates.
The kingpin of the gang led by Kamal Shahi alias Kithne Shahi hatched a plan to commit theft, initially the prime accused engaged Manoj, Chandu, Bishal Shahi alias Sabeen Rana, Ashok, and his wife Rekha as maidservants into a house located at Moosarambagh. Sabeen Rana passes the owner’s family information to Kamal Shahi. On 12-08-2021 the owner left home for his official work leaving behind his children, taking this as an opportunity Kamal Shahi, Bhupin, Prakash Thai, along with Bishal Shahi alias Sabeen Rana, Ashok, and Rakha committed the theft of Net cash Rs11,50,000/- and sped away from the place of offence.
Basing on the facts of the case, 12 teams were formed to apprehend the accused, while 2 teams were deployed to the Indo-Nepal border. 4 teams were deployed to view CCTV footages, 2 teams were deployed for technical analysis, 2 teams were deployed to collect the completed details of the suspects and 2 teams went to Pune, Gujarat, Mumbai, and Bangalore.
Acting on the tip-off the Commissioner’s Task Force, East Zone Team, Hyderabad city along with Malakpet Police apprehended the above-accused person along with the stolen property Net Cash Rs.4,00,000/- and 5 cell phones from their instance before they could escape to Nepal. The apprehended accused along with seized property was handed over to SHO, Malakpet Police Station, for taking further action.
The Police have made an appeal to the public as follows: While engaging migrant workers from other states and countries as maidservants, everyone has to verify their Identity proofs pertaining to Nepal.
The prospective owners must collect the contact numbers of individuals and their family members and their local references and contact.
Don’t trust domestic helpers easily while leaving the house and secure your valuables, In absence of an extradition treaty, it becomes difficult to arrest criminals.

V Subba Rao, Inspector of Police, East Zone Task Force Team, Mr. Nanu Naik, Addl Inspector, Malakpet Police Station, and Sl’s Mr. Govindu Swamy, Mr. P. Vasudev, Mr. G. Srinivas Reddy, Mr. C. Venkatesh, and the staff of East Zone Task Force Team, Hyderabad city along with Malakpet Police.
