KASARAGOD: SEPTEMBER 1: Sales Tax Intelligence officials on 29 August seized 175 litres of Indian-made foreign liquor from an auto rickshaw at Hossangadi in Kasaragod during the continuing crackdown on smuggling of liquor from Karnataka into the district on Onam season. According to Excise sources, the brew, filled both in bottles and packets were seized. The occupants of the three-wheeler, found to be bearing fake registration number, fleed from the spot under the cover of darkness. The seized liquor along with the vehicle was handed over to the custody of Kumbla Excise Range office, officials say. ]]>
