Rachakonda: In an effort to root out organized Human trafficking networks within the limits of Rachakonda Commissionerate and to create a sense of safety and security among the family system, College going students, and youth not to fall into the trafficking network, C.P. Rachakonda invoked PD Act against one of the human trafficking gang members for organizing prostitution in the limits of Nacharam PS of Rachakonda Commissionerate and detained her in Special Prison for Women, Chenchalguda, Hyderabad on 12-10-2021.
The Organizers Thimmanaboina Padma alias Latha(40) and Ajay have been running prostitution business clandestinely in the limits of Nacharam PS by procuring girls/women from West Bengal State and other parts of the Country. They induce the girls on the pretext of providing employment, livelihood and later forcing them to do prostitution. They collect huge amounts from male customers and only give a meager amount to the victim girls. They all share business booty equally. Thus, they are living on the earnings of prostitution. The proposed detenu took a rented portion in Nacharam limits and running prostitution for about 6 months. She keeps one Kola Subramanyam in the house in her absence to look after victims and to collect money from male customers.
On credible information, Nacharam Police raided Flat No. 301, 3rd Floor, RV Rupani Apartment, Bapuji Nagar, Nacharam on 23-09-2021 and arrested the organizer Mrs. Thimmanaboina Padma alias Latha and her aide Kola Subramanyam, including one male customer. Police rescued one West Bengal origin woman and sent her to a rescue home to be looked after till deporting to her hometown. The arrested accused was remanded to judicial custody.
With a view to prevent her from indulging in human trafficking and to preserve public order, Mr. Mahesh M Bhagwat, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda invoked an order of detention under PD Act against her and lodged in Special Prison for Women, Chenchalguda on 12-10-2021.
