Rachakonda: In an ongoing drive against habitual offenders to create a sense of safety and security to the General Public within the limits of Commissionerate, CP, Rachakonda invoked PD Act against two habitual and notorious house burglary offenders and detained them in the Central prison, Cherlapally on 21-10-2021.
The offender Shaik Waseem hailed from Nizamabad District. Earlier, during the years, 2017 and 2018 he has been involved in as many as 6 house burglaries in the limits of Kamareddy District and Meerpet Police Station of Rachakonda Commissionerate. In the above cases, he was arrested by Police, remanded to judicial custody, and lodged in jail. He came out of jail in the above cases, avoided court trial, and along with his brother in law Shaik Feroz and his friend Shaik Ameer formed a gang and resorted to indulging in similar activities and thus committed house burglaries by day in the Police station limits of Meerpet of Rachakonda Commissionerate. Another offender is Shaik Feroz’s brother-in-law in relation to Shaik Waseem.
Acting on a tip-off, Meerpet Police arrested the accused Shaik Waseem(22), Shaik Feroz(25), and Shaik Ameer on 12-08-2021 and recovered Gold Ornaments weighing about 14 Tolas, Net cash Rs.9,63,000/-, One Cell Phone and One Motorcycle all worth Rs.18 lakhs from their possession. They were remanded to judicial custody and lodged in central prison Cherlapally on 12.08.2021.
On which, with a view to prevent them from committing such House burglaries by day in the area and to preserve public order, the Preventive Detention orders under the provisions of PD Act are invoked against them by Mr. Mahesh M. Bhagwat, I.P.S., Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda and detained them in the Central Prison, Cherlapally on 21-10-2021.
