MADURAI, SEPTEMBER 7: The 25 th edition of Tamil Nadu Mercantile Bank’s, ‘All India Volleyball Tournament’ was inaugurated by Tirunelveli Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Mr. Dinakaran at Tuticorin. In the first match for women, Kerala Police crushed Western Railway 25-23, 25-16, 25-17. In the second match, the same teams played in the men’s section and Western Railway defeated Kerala Police 28-26, 25-15, 25-14. Seven teams are participating in men’s section and four teams are participating in women’s section. The winners of the tournament in the men’s category would receive Rs.75, 000 as the first prize. Runners and second runners in the men’s category would receive Rs.50, 000 and 25,000 respectively. In the women’s category the winners will be awarded Rs.50, 000 meanwhile the runners and second runner up get Rs.30, 000 and Rs.20, 000 respectively.
