Hyderabad: On 01.12.2021 at 5 pm received a complaint from S Rangamma alias Jogini Rangamma daughter of Narsimulu, 60 years, Occupation; Jogini, resident of H. No 12-15-781, V Lane, MK Nagar, Osmania University(OU) Campus regarding the theft of her ancestral property; 1 kg gold ornaments and Rs.4 lakh net cash, all worth of Rs.65 Lakhs, in her absence from 23.11.2021 to 29.11.2021 and suspected her adopted daughter’s husband by name Mandala Laxman (29) upon which the above case was registered at Osmania University Police Station and investigated into.
The accused Mandala Laxman is the husband of the complainant’s adopted daughter. The accused Mandala Laxman is a painter by profession and he was addicted to all sorts of bad habits like consuming liquor, smoking, and others and his earnings became meager to mitigate his financial problems. Hence, he hatched a plan to overcome his financial problems through illegal ways and planned to commit theft in his mother-in-law the complainant house and while he was waiting for the opportunity, the complainant left for Kasi on pilgrimage on 23.11.2021. In her absence, the accused Mandala Laxman switched off the CCTV cameras in the house and committed theft of gold ornaments 105 tulas, and 12 lakhs cash by breaking open the locker from the complainant’s bedroom.
On 03.10.2021 at about 1 pm, on receiving credible information, Osmania University Police apprehended the accused Mandala Laxman at Arts College Railway Station, Secunderabad. This case is being investigated by Inspector of Police Mr. L Ramesh Naik with the assistance of DSI Mr. P. Gangadhar Reddy Osmania University Police Station along with crime staff under close supervision of Mr. A. Srinivas, Asst. Commissioner of Police, Kachiguda Division.
