Rachakonda: The closing ceremony of the 4th “Annual Sports and Games Meet-2021” of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate is held at the premises of Saroornagar stadium, LB Nagar today with a grand note. Chief Guest of honor Sri. K. Ramakrishna Rao IAS Principal Secretary, Finance Department, Telangana Government graced the occasion with his presence and gave away trophies, medals, and certificates to the winners. In the four-day-long sports meet, Police working across Rachakonda Commissionerate have participated in sports including Tennis, Basketball, Football. Volleyball, Cricket, etc.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. K. Ramakrishna Rao IAS complimented Rachakonda Police for making the sports meet a grand success and memorized his close association with CP Mr. Mahesh M Bhagwat IPS. He commended CP for his reformative and innovative policing in Rachakonda and for providing the best services to the citizens. He stated that the Telangana Police have shattered all doubts among citizens regarding law and order in the new state after the formation of the state and commended Rachakonda Police for becoming one of the best police forces in the country. He opined that Police need to have physical and psychological strength as they provide tireless services to the citizens round the clock. He said that sports are much required these days to avoid lifestyle diseases to which police are more prone due to the nature of their occupation.
He said all the stress is busted through these meets by giving much-needed breaks to reinvigorate themselves. Team spirit and camaraderie develop amongst the police personnel due to such sports and games, he added. He appreciated all the participants and organizers on behalf of the State government.
Speaking to the media, CP Mr. Mahesh M Bhagwat IPS quoted that, “Success is not given, it is earned.” He uttered that everyone is a winner as long as they strive. Winning or losing, participation is important, he added. CP stated that every sportsman is a winner by the time he steps into the game and receiving the winner’s trophy is just a bonus. He opined that every participant is a winner and participation itself is a success of every sportsman. He said that trophies and medals are just an added ice on the cake for any sportsman. He stated that every sportsman feels like being on cloud nine while reaching a match-winning moment and that feeling is priceless which no money can buy.
He said that active participation in sports and athletics will give dividends in terms of fitness, wellbeing, and happiness. He said that man needs to socially connect with each other since man is a social animal. He wished that an amicable relationship will be developed among the Police with the sports meet. CP mentioned that Rachakonda Commissionerate is providing ample support to the Police to reach better levels in sports. He advised everyone to aim high to reach the top and opined that a lower aim is a crime. He reminded everyone that sports meet is not conducted in the last two years due to the pandemic.
He said that sports help society in reducing the crime rate as well. He mentioned a few instances where youth spent their leisure time with sports which kept them away from being involved in anti-social activities. He said that sports help youth to gain competitive spirit which lets them end up being successful in their career also. He opined that sports build endurance, induce positive thinking and fighter spirit in everyone which boosts their energy to be reborn from every failure.
He especially appreciated the participants of the friendly Cricket match that happened between media personnel and Police and opined it would improve the amicable relationship between media and the Police department.
DCP Mr. Sunpreeth Singh IPS. DCP Ms. Rakshitha K Murthy IPS. DCP Mr. K. Narayana Reddy, DCP (Crimes) Mr. Yadagiri, DCP Admin, Mrs. K. Shilpavalli, and Addl. DCP Mr. Shameer was also present at the occasion and appreciated the participants and winners.
