Rachakonda: CP Mr. Mahesh M Bhagwat IPS has advised the citizens to follow proper precautionary measures as directed by the Police to safeguard their valuables at home while leaving for their home towns for the forthcoming Sankranthi festival. Rachakonda Police Commissionerate has issued useful precautionary guidelines to follow.
While speaking to the media, CP opined that disclosing the details about travel plans on social media platforms could lead to theft and warned the citizens not to do so. Intending to guide the public, CP gave numerous instructions which includes arranging a central lock system at home, keeping the footwear in front of the main doors, locking the outside gate from inside, switching on the lights of the front room of the house, and informing the neighbors or reliable persons about the travel, etc.
CP also stated that people can inform police nearby about the traveling if required. CP reminded everyone about the significance of CCTVs and advised to install them at home premises or colonies if possible. CP warned the citizens not to keep valuable things like gold, ornaments, and cash at home while going to their hometowns. CP also instructed the citizens to observe COVID-19 guidelines and follow SMS (Sanitizer, Mask, and Social Distancing) strictly to stay safe while traveling by bus, train, or any public transport. CP warned the citizens to be vigilant about the rapid spread and growing cases of Covid-19 due to the new variant Omicron.
