Mangalore: Rs 1.88 crore worth cash and gold Seized by Karnataka Polioce . A 33-year-old Rajasthan-based man was arrested in Mangalore by the Railway Protection Force (RFF) staff on Monday for carrying valuable cash and gold.
The arrested accused was identified as Mahendra Singh Rao of Udaipur district of Rajasthan and was traveling on the Mumbai LTTE-Ernakulam Turanto Express train. During a police inspection, a large quantity of cash and gold was seized from Mahendra Singh and seized for further inquiries. The accused has confiscated 800 grams of gold worth Rs 1.48 crore and Rs 40 lakh.
RPF said the Rajasthan-based traveler had told him that he was working at Shubh Gold in Kozhikode, Kerala, and its owner Praveen Singh had sent it to a person in Mumbai who he knew.
