BHARATPUR: An undertrial lodged in one of cell in Bharatpur Central Jail posted pictures of his barracks on Facebook on September 16 after which the Jail officials were left red-faced. Tinchu Chaudhary, 25, was sent to jail pending a trial against him on charges of stabbing his friend, Jay Singh, to death in August 2009 at Hatijar village in Bharatpur. The undertrial uploaded nine photos of the barrack on the social networking site, last Friday, around 4.32pm. The pictures show him talking on a mobile phone, posing near the barrack’s gate and with a group of prisoners. Regular posting of photographs on the social networking sites raises serious questions on how prisoners have the luxury of mobile phones with access to Internet inside the high security central jail. The jail staff had not found any mobile from the prisoner during examination, Superintendent of the Central Jail Mr. Sewar Omprakash told the press on Sunday. “But we are investigating the matter. He was shifted to the jail on June 16 from the Jaipur Central Jail. His Facebook account also has photos of the Jaipur jail”, Mr. Sewar said. ]]>
