Lucknow: Nearly 50,000 paramilitary personnel from 412 companies of the Central Paramilitary Force along with state police forces will be deployed in Uttar Pradesh to maintain law and order during the forthcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. Authorities said the highest numbers of troops were deployed in Aligarh, Muzaffarnagar, and Meerut.
Elections will be held in seven phases from February 10 to March 7. The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
Each company will have 110 personnel for the Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh over the next two months. . “A few days ago the EC requested a meeting with senior officials of the MHA, where they also discussed various issues related to security during polling,” the sources said.
“In total, 412 companies of the Central Armed Paramilitary Forces (CAPF) have been sanctioned and in the first week of January, the CAPF of 225 companies has already been reached. They have been deployed in various places for Area Domination. The rest of the force will be deployed by February 5, sources said.
