New Delhi: The use of drones, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and predictive policing is an integral part of our crime control and mitigation strategy. Delhi police commissioner said, in the 2022-23 budget. With an increase of Rs.1, 700 crores, the Delhi Police is all set to invest heavily in technology. Delhi Police Commissioner Mr. Rakesh Asthana IPS briefed the media on the structural changes implemented so far and future plans, including drones and artificial intelligence.
An amount of Rs.10, 355.29 crores has been allotted to Delhi Police. This is an increase of Rs.1, 701.03 crores over the previous year. Of this, Rs.287 crore will be spent on setting up CCTV security surveillance systems across Delhi, procuring advanced equipment for peacekeeping, and improving communication systems such as cyber highways and digital trunk radio systems. In addition, Rs.259 crore will be utilized for the creation of police infrastructure.
