Delhi: The Delhi Uttam Nagar Police have arrested a man for allegedly trying to break into a Bank of India (BOI) ATM. Police have launched an investigation into a tip-off that someone was trying to break into an ATM.
He is CSS (Clear Security Services) company supervisor and the police identified the accused as 34-year-old Ashad Ali, a resident of Uttam Nagar.
According to sources, the ATM was open when SHO, ATO, and sub-inspectors reached the spot. A special crime team was called to investigate the crime spot.
Beat staff examined the CCTV footage of the ATM and photos of the suspect were distributed. After hours of interrogation, the police identified and arrested the accused and seized shoes, clothes, and weapons that had broken into the ATM.
Ashad used an iron plate (Tawa) to break into the ATM and he admitted his mistakes before the police. Police said he was having some financial problems.
