Awantipora: As a part of the public outreach program and to strengthen the Police-public relationship, the Police facilitated a police-public interaction meeting in Awantipora. The meeting was held while following social distancing norms and other COVID protocols. The meeting was held at Karmulla Tral and was attended by respectable citizens, local Imams, and Awqaf members.
The meeting was chaired by Awantipora SSP Mr. Mohd Yousif JKPS accompanied by SDPO Tral, SHO Tral, and I/C PC Tral.
The participants highlighted various issues including lack of road connectivity to a few hamlets of this remote village, lack of transport service, scarcity of drinking water, poor cellular network connectivity, etc. The chairing officers assured them that their genuine grievances will be resolved on priority while the other issues will be taken up with concerned authorities for their early redressal. The participants were briefed about the apprehensions of the spread of COVID-19 and were requested to spread awareness among the masses to follow COVID-appropriate behavior.
During the interaction, Awantipora SSP requested the participants to send their wards to schools so that they get quality education which can ultimately pave the way to ameliorate their living standards. SSP also sought cooperation from the Public to Police to curb the crime, especially social crime.
The participants appreciated the police for conducting such interaction meetings and assured their full support and cooperation in curbing the menace of social crimes and in maintaining law & order.
