Delhi: Delhi Police have arrested a man for committing mobile thefts and multiple interstate thefts in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. The accused was also involved in a murder case in Haryana in the past.
Meanwhile, 163 mobile phones, including 102 high-end smartphones worth Rs.30 lakh, were seized from the accused.
In a recent case, police received information on March 1 about the movements of interstate thieves. According to sources, the trap was set at LIG flats on the road near Jyothi Nagar, Gurudwara.
At around 4.40 pm, police intercepted a gray bag in the accused’s possession and seized 14 brand-new high-end smartphones.
During interrogation, he admitted that he along with his accomplices Farooq and Zeeshan stole mobile phones on February 26 at a shop in Shahra. He revealed that they used a gas cutter to break the shop gate.
According to the accused, the police raided and seized 88 mobile phones and a gas cutter used for the crime from his rented residence in Sundar Nagri. Further investigation into the case is ongoing as police are trying to nab his other accomplices who committed the thefts.
