The e-Shikha School which has been set up at the premises of Siliguri Police Station was inaugurated on 13/03/22 by Sh Gaurav Sharma IPS CP Siliguri in presence of other Senior Police Officers.
This School would address the need and provide Computer Education to the underprivileged children residing under the jurisdiction of Siliguri P.S.
Under this project a three months certification computer course on computer education will be provided to the needy children, free of cost to help them become more resourceful and make them economically viable. In the first batch 80 students whose parents are economically unstable have been selected to undergo the course.
The children of police personnel and some interested police personnel themselves, will also be trained here in batches.
In this age of Digital revolution, no child should be ignorant or fearful about technology, hence it is the need of the hour to impart Computer Education to the underprivileged children whose parents cannot afford to do the same.
Here, Siliguri Metropolitan Police is committed to stand by the needy children to educate them in Computer Education and help them in being economically stable and also save them from Drugs and other sinful activities.
We are thankful to SOFTECH Computers, Siliguri and all the Good Samaritans of Siliguri who have supported us in this project.
