Hyderabad: City Traffic Joint Commissioner of Police Mr. AV Ranganath on Friday said that the traffic challan concession will not be given in April.
Speaking at a press conference, Mr. Ranganath said that so far Rs.1.85 crore traffic challans were cleared and Rs.190 crore was collected through these challans. He clarified that the provision for payment of discount challans would end on March 31.
Launched by the state government’s traffic police department, the scheme is getting a special response from those violating traffic rules. Traffic police said they were clearing 1,000 challans per minute.
