Siliguri: On 28.3.2022 afternoon acting on a specific input, a joint police team of SOG, SPC and Matigara Police Station apprehended two persons namely Mohamed based of Lelin Colony, Darjeeling district and Sk. Abub Kasem of Vill- Nawab Bari, Murshidabad district at Old Matigara Road.
On search after complying with the procedures laid down under the NDPS Act 600 grams of Brown Sugar in two plastic pouches each containing 300 grams of Brown Sugar was recovered and seized from their exclusive possession of the accused Mohamed and Sk Abbu Kasem.
Both the accused persons have been arrested and taken into custody. The value of the seized Brown Sugar is 1 Crore 10 Lakhs.
A specific case under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been started against the accused persons at Matigara Police Station. Investigation is on and both the accused persons will be presented before the Ld Court today. Our initiative “Say No To Drugs” shall continue.
