Siliguri: Recently, a differently-abled child was in news. He was tied in chains, with a helpless mother seeking for help. OC NJP, SI Mr. Samir Tamang and police personnel of NJP Police Station visited the house of the child on the request of CP Siliguri and met his mother.
All the police personnel of NJP Police Station came together and pooled money. They bought train tickets for the mother, son and one more guardian to travel to NIMHANS, Bangalore to get the child treated. Also, a substantial amount of money was pooled to meet up the treatment cost.
Yesterday, CP Siliguri, on the sidelines of Sainik Sammelan in NJP Police Station, handed over the tickets and the said money to the respected mother.
Siliguri Metropolitan Police is proud of all ranks of NJP Police Station who came forward to extend support to the needy family. We pledge to stand by the side of our people in every hour of need.
