Srinagar: In its continuing endeavor to reach out to the public, Police in Baramulla organized an awareness program related to cybercrimes and drug de-addiction at Police Station Uri.
The awareness program was chaired by SHO of Uri Police Station Mr. Dheeraj Kumar JKPS. The program was attended by Chairman Municipal Council Uri, Presidents of Traders Federation Uri, Councilors of Municipal Council Uri and respectable of the area.
The main motive was to provide awareness regarding cybercrimes and drug de-addiction among the participants. SHO of Police Station Uri briefed about cyber threats/activities such as identity theft, credit card fraud, data stealing, cyber stalking, humiliation of girls, spreading pornography, etc among the participants. Chairing officer also sought the cooperation of people in eradicating the social evils prevailing in the society particularly menace of drugs. He highlighted the role of parents and said that parents have a greater responsibility in social development of a child as they act as the first teachers and guides of their wards.
The participants appreciated the efforts of Police for facilitating such awareness programs where participants express their opinion freely. The participants assured their full cooperation to police in tackling social evils and other crimes.
