Vijayawada City: Vijayawada City Police and Railway Police will conduct a special drive ahead with a joint operation to control unscrupulous forces, blade batch and chain snatchers within Vijayawada city limits. Earlier on Monday, Divisional Railway Security Officer Mr. Beaty Walleshwar and City Police Commissioner Mr. Kanti Rana Tata went directly on the special train and inspected the railway station and the area around the track. Later, City Police Commissioner Mr. Kanti Rana Tata told the media that the focus was on the blade batch gangs and the cannabis gangs who have taken up residence on the railway tracks and loco shades. The Commissioner said the railway was cumbing in the surrounding areas on the orders of the state DGP. Commissioner Mr. Kanti Rana Tata warned that a total of 15 crime hotspots have been identified within the railway station and cases will be registered to identify those who are coming along the station and tracks without any reason other than passengers.
He warned that those who committed thefts while consuming alcohol and marijuana would no longer be charged with steel. In addition to the GRP police, city police personnel will be deployed in the field to conduct a special drive to the crime scene, officials said. On the same topic, RPF Divisional Railway Security Officer Mr. Beaty Walleshwar said action would be taken under the Railway Act against those who cause inconvenience to passengers and the general public. Mr. Beaty Walleshwar warned that an iron foot would be laid on unscrupulous forces aimed at curbing cannabis and blade batches. He said a joint action plan would be prepared by the railway police and city police in the vicinity of the railway tracks. Mr. Beaty Walleshwar said that besides installing CCTV cameras in the vicinity of the railway station, special patrols will be set up along the loco shade and tracks.
