Rachakonda: CCTVS make policing easier which keeps the society peaceful. Law and Order plays a vital role in the development of the state: Mrs. Sabitha Indra Reddy, Hon’ble minster for Education Telangana.
On Monday, May 5th Mrs. Sabitha Indra Reddy, Hon’ble minister for Education, Telangana has elaborated the significance of Community CCTVs in keeping the society peaceful and crime free, during the inauguration ceremony of 284 CCTVs sponsored by TSIIC, held at SYR Conventions, Jillelagauda.
Aiming to support the efforts of Rachakonda Police in providing impeccable services to the citizens, Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) granted an amount of Rs.3 crore under CSR initiative towards installation of community CCTVs cameras at important and main road stretches, mixed population habitations, BPL colonies and other crime prone areas under the limits of PSS Balapur, Pahadishareef and Meerpet of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate.
A total of 284 Cameras including 13 PTZ cameras have been installed worth around Rs.3 crore. Of the total 284 CCTVs, 111 cameras including 101 fixed and 10 PTZ Cameras have been installed under the limits of Balapur P5 and 98 cameras including 95 fixed cameras and 3 PTZ Cameras have been installed under the limits of Pahadishareef Police Station and 75 cameras have been installed under the limits of Meerpet Police Station. All the above community cameras are being geo tagged. As of now, out of 284 cameras, 138 cameras have been connected to PSS and from there to main Command Control Centre and the rest of the 146 cameras will be connected soon.
Addressing the ceremony, chief guest of honour, Mrs. Sabitha Indra Reddy has reminded everyone how CCTVS play key role in crime detection and case solving in less time. She opined that the colonies in which CCTVs were installed has witnessed a decline in all sorts of crimes. She further stated that the major objective of CCTVs installation is to prevent any crime against women, children and all the citizens of the state.
She opined that still city has many Crime Hotspots, Gender Offence Hotspots & Black spots which are not covered by any CCTV Camera Surveillance and advised the citizens to come forward to install CCTVs in their localities. She lauded the efforts of Rachakonda Police in keeping the society crime free. She advised the citizens to follow the instructions of Rachakonda Police and install CCTVs in their homes which ultimately keep their localities crime free.
Speaking to the gathering, guest of honour, Mr.M. Mahender Reddy IPS Hon’ble DGP Telangana state has commended TSIIC for the noble contribution of 284 CCTVs which assist the Police department in crime detection and case solving besides daily patrolling. He stated that, one CCTV works like hundred Police round the clock which keep the criminals intimidated all the time to incline towards committing any kind of crime.
He mentioned how CCTVs solved numerous cases within short time across the state and mentioned the case in which an interstate gang of chain snatchers involved in (36) chain snatchings in AP and Telangana was apprehended first time by tracking CCTV footages from Medipally to Sanathnagar. He stated that the state witnessed a conviction rate of 45 percent and cited the role in of CCTVS in the crime detection.
He said that any issue like suspicious movement of new persons or any petty quarrelling between residence and any other issues raised in the community with the help of available footages and backups the colony people can get resolve the problems which ultimately make everyone act as a responsible citizen. He mentioned that around 9 lakh 20 thousand CCTVs have been installed across the state and said that on inspiring the incidents, many villages came forward to install the CCTV cameras for their safety as well as public safety.
Addressing the gathering, CP Mr. Mahesh Bhagwat IPS has thanked TSIIC for the donation of 284 CCTV cameras and commended their noble gesture and elaborated the significance of CCTVS in Crime detection. CP also stated that an amount of around Rs.1.5 crore is allocated by TSIIC for the installation of CCTVS in Yadadri. CP said that CCTV footages can be useful for prevention and detection of the cases like missing cases, road accidents; property offences etc. and opined that CCTVS play a vital role in providing more safety to the citizens, especially to the women and children.
CP uttered that numerous cases have been solved in shorter time with the help of CCTVs and reiterated the role of CCTVS that helped to solve the recent murder case of two realtors namely Mr. Srinivas Reddy & Mr. Raghavender Reddy who was killed under the limits of Ibrahipatnam by hired killers with fire arms. CP opined that CCTVs induce fear in criminals that keep them away from committing crime. CP further opined that the city require more CCTVs as women employees are working even in the nights and stated that more CCTVs will be set up soon in the dark spots and under covered areas as well.
CP mentioned that as on today 11,981 Community Cameras and 1,39,628 Nenu Saitham cameras total 1,51,609 CCTV cameras have been installed under the Rachakonda Commissionerate and all were geo tagged, CP advised the citizens to install Nenu Saitham CCTVs in their localities that provide them the security round the clock.
DCP Mr. Sunpreeth Singh IPS, Addl DCP Mr. Shameer, ACP Mr. Purushotham Reddy, Badangpet Mayor Ms. Parijatha and other officers of Rachakonda Commissionerate and public representatives of the constituency have participated in the ceremony.
