Visakhapatnam City: On 7.8.2022, Station House officer, IV Town Police station arrested Pangi Ravi Kumar(23) s/o Demudu of Visakhapatnam city; Origanti Vasu Deva Katanya(32) s/o Sri Rama Murthy of Visakhapatnam city; Malladi Mojesh(25) s/o Siva Sankar of Visakhapatnam city; Appikonda Yada Kishore(26) s/o Durga Rao of Visakhapatnam city; Mare Sandeep(28) s/o Venkata Krupakar of Visakhapatnam city. He was involved previously in a NDPS case at Bangalore city.
The seized the following material from their possession.
50 LSD blots (Lysergic Acid Diethyl Amide) (Narcotic drug); 4.4 grams white powder (suspected to be MDMA); 5 Mobiles; One Car bearing registration No. AP31 DW 1703.
During interrogation it was revealed that Pangi Ravi Kumar sold Ganja at Goa to his known friend Dilip who is yet to be arrested and his friends. He collects Ganja from one local person Dinesh who was earlier arrested by the CTF team in Drugs case of Gajuwaka Police Station on 21.07.22 and sold the same at Goa. In this connection, he went to Goa for four times and was arrested by the Goa police while in illegal possession of Ganja. After releasing from Jail, due to financial problems he made a deal with Dilip to sell drugs in Visakhapatnam city and collected 6 LSD Blots at Goa from Dilip on the eve of Holy-2022 and sold to Dilip’s friends at NAD Petrol Bunk in concealed mode in cigarette packets.
In the same process, on the eve of Friend ship day on 07.08.2022, Dilip told Ravi to sell the Drugs to his friends in Visakhapatnam City and sent 50 LSD Blots to him. On information, CTF team apprehended the above accused.
On the instructions of Mr. Ch. Srikanth, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Visakhapatnam city to keep close a watch on the raising drug menace among the youth in the city, Anti- narcotic cell of City Task Force team under the supervision of Mr. K. Ananda Reddy, ADCP, Special Branch, Mr. Y. Govinda Rao, ACP, Special Branch (I/c Task Force) along with his team and Law and order Police have conducted a joint raid, apprehended the accused and seized the case property from the possession of the accused.
Investigation is continuing to unearth the forward and backward linkages of the accused involved in the chain.
Visakhapatnam city Police appeal to the parents to keep a close watch on the behavior of children and if any abnormality and signs of depression are observed, parents shall immediately take the children to professional counseling. Parents may also avail the facility of city Police counseling center “MARPU”, where several drug addicted children were given counseling and efforts were made to bring change in their lives.
