Chennai: Chennai police have arrested a notorious history-sheeter and seized weapons, and foiled an attempt he had planned to kill a rival gang.
At Peerkankaranai Police station, 28-year-old Vivek Raj is a history-sheeter with several pending cases. Recently, members of Vivek Raj’s gang released several social media posts praising him in an attempt to intimidate the rival gang. Sensing that this gang was involved in a heinous crime, the Chennai police started searching for his whereabouts.
Tambaram police received information that Vivek Raj was near Kovalam area, immediately police caught Vivek Raj and arrested him, and a police team recovered several machetes from him.
Preliminary investigation by the police revealed that Vivek Raj had planned to kill “Selaiyur Lenin” and his gang members to avenge the death of his gang member.
A Tambaram police team led by Inspector Mr. Charles arrested Vivek Raj and his accomplice Vishal.
