Ranipet: Under the leadership of District Superintendent of Police Dr. Deepa Sathyan IPS at the Ranipet District Police Office on 12.09.2022 at around 5 pm in the evening, a consultation meeting was held with all traders’ associations in the district in order to completely eliminate the sale of gutka and ganja banned by the Government in Ranipet district.
District Superintendent of Police Dr. Deepa Sathyan IPS spoke in this meeting. She said that anyone selling or hoarding Gutka and Ganja banned by the government will face strict legal action, seal the shops and imprison them under the Gangster Prevention Act, freeze their bank accounts and freeze their property and bank accounts. The entire money in the account will be confiscated by the government. A total of 428 gutka cases and 80 ganja cases have been registered this year and 517 people have been arrested and action taken, out of which 18 people have been jailed under the Gangster Prevention Act.
It is stated that the bank accounts of 28 people have been frozen. Also in this meeting Additional Superintendent of Police (Chief) Mr. Visvesvaraiya, Deputy Superintendent of Police Mr. Prabhu, Utkota, Ranipet., police inspectors, assistant inspectors and all traders association were present. Also all the traders association who attended the meeting promised to give full cooperation to the police in future and to create a Ganja and Gutka free district.
