Kurnool: The Kurnool District SP Mr. Siddharth Kaushal IPS held a press conference on Monday at the parade ground of the district police office and revealed the details of the arrest of two suspects involved in auto thefts in Kurnool and the recovery of 14 autos. The accused are committing theft by breaking the autos parked in front of the houses at night.
He spoke to the media on this occasion.
He said that surveillance has been set up with a special focus on crimes in the district and in Kurnool town. Special crime teams have been formed and night patrols have been increased. Kurnool Nalagava Town Police arrested both of them who are habitually committing auto thefts. He said that these two had stolen the cars parked near the houses by tampering with the ignition mechanism of the cars.
He said that autos were stolen in Kurnool and neighboring districts and went to Hyderabad and disposed there. He said that autos were recovered in Hyderabad while on survey lines. Recovered autos are being given to auto drivers and owners. He said that their value is around 17 lakh 47 thousand.
Awareness programs will be organized for auto drivers and auto owners to arrange wheel lock and alarm system for autos. Care should be taken while parking the autos. They are appealing to auto drivers and owners to install wheel lock and alarm system for autos.
The arrested accused are Syed Sameer (33), Hyderabad, Telangana State; Mohammed Aleem (26), Hyderabad, Telangana State.These accused are being remanded today.
Out of the total 10 cases against these two, 6 cases are in Telangana and 4 cases are in Vijayawada.
