Mavelikkara: The Mavelikkara police have arrested the accused who robbed the money and mobile phone of a disabled resident of a lodge near the Mavelikkara private bus stand.
Rajendraprasad (57) who is called Babukutan at home on the bank of Mavelikkara Puthikav pond and Vishnu (30) who is called Pulchadi at home in Pathiyur Eruwa Puthan Kandam were arrested last night under the leadership of Mavelikkara Police Inspector Mr. C. Sreejith.
They broke into the lodge room yesterday morning at 7.00 am and stole Rs.19000/- and a mobile phone from the bag of a disabled youth who was in the room. Since 2014, the accused was involved in cases of robbery, theft and ganja trafficking and the accused had been regular troublemakers in the bars and private bus stand of Mavelikkara town were identified and taken into custody last night at 10.00 pm from near the Bar Hotel in Mavelikkara town.
The stolen mobile phone was recovered. The accused were produced in court and remanded.
