VIJAYAWADA: The Police department was identifying department lands to utilise them for commercial purposes to generate Rs 100 crore revenue to the department per year said the Director General of Police (DGP) of Andhra Pradesh Mr. N. Sambasiva Rao on Monday. The DGP chaired a review meeting with the senior officials and discussed the feasibility of developing the Police department lands for commercial purposes. All the superintendents of police were instructed to identify lands for commercial purposes in the State and submit a report to the head office in 30 days to the DGP. Proposals had been made for allocation of 50 per cent revenue to the district offices and the remaining to be taken by the head office, he said. Smart cards would also be issued to the Police staff and health checkups would be conducted regularly and 40 vehicles would be purchased to check accidents on the roads, the DGP said. ]]>
