Bhubaneswar: The Cybercrime Police on Tuesday said a total of Rs.50 lakh has been cheated from citizens across the state by the cyber fraudsters between Dussehra and Diwali.
Most of the scams were carried by the fraudsters through UPI-related transactions.
In connection with cyber frauds earlier, Odisha Police had shared some safety measures to be followed to avoid fraud through UPI transactions.
The Safety Tips that the Cybercrome Police shared with the citizens are as follows:
Use Anti Virous sofrwre and keep it up to date. Never open or respomd to any mail or attachment from an unknown sender. Always remember to sign out properly after using your account. Give strong password. change your password on regular as per the password policy. Back up your computer data. Do not share access to your computer with strangers. Never share personal data with others. Disconect from the internet when not in use.
