BENGALURU: Section 188 of the IPC was slapped against the management of a pre-school in Bellandur by Marathahalli Police after the school’s office assistant was arrested for sexually abusing a three and half year old child inside the school. Kingston D’Souza, zonal head of the pre-school chain, Dr Veena, pre school principal, Praveen, a senior management official were arrested under various sections of the Pocso Act, on Tuesday evening by the Police. The school principal refused to believe that Manju Bhaiya (as the kids addressed him) had molested the child on Monday when the parents while complaining to the Police said. The investigations are being conducted as per the child protection policy and laws under it, and will get to the bottom of the issue. A case has been filed against the against the school authorities by Marathahalli Police under Section 188 and the enquiry is under way, Police said. Manjunath was arrested on Friday night under Section 3 and 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act and he continues to be in police custody and parents and children of the school will soon have to undergo counseling sessions with members of the Child Rights Commission too, said Mr. M.
