Bhubaneswar: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on the eve of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary organized a bike rally in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. His birth anniversary falls on Monday.
Around 120 CRPF Jawans participated in the bike rally with the National Flag. The bike tally was flagged off by CRPF IG Mr. Sangram Keshari Mohanty. The rally which began from Bhubaneswar camp will go through Khurda, Cuttack, and Puri districts covering 75 km.
“One should understand how India attained Independence and the challenges faced by our country after being freed from the British Rule. It was Sardar Patel who visualized the significance of a special force in independent India and conceptualized the CRPF. We are conducting the bike rally in memory of Sardar Patel who is considered the founder of CRPF,” CRPF IG told media.
The Central government had planned an elaborate program involving paramilitary forces in all districts of the country to mark the birth anniversary of ‘Iron Man of India’ on October 31 which is celebrated as National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas since 2014.
The ‘Run for Unity’ campaign will be held from 7 am to 8 am. Around 75,000 unity runs will be organized across India with 100 runs in each district.
