CHENNAI: Kanathur Police on East Coast Road, ECR, seized ten luxury cars and booked a driver of one of the vehicles after a group of youngsters who were allegedly driving in a rash manner early on Sunday morning. A Lambhorghini is allegedly said to have hit a Police inspector after he had tried to stop the car, Police said. The Police team is said to have tried to stop the cars with modified silencers that were creating a deafening noise. IPC sections 506 and 336was slapped on the Lamborghini’s driver Raghav Krishnan, but Police released him on bail later in the day. A Police officer said, “Police tried to stop them near Akkarai on ECR, but they did not stop but zipped past, then we posted more personnel at Uthandi tollgate and stop them there”. An Inspector of Police, IOP, was injured when Raghav Krishnan allegedly sped very fast. A total of 10 cars were seized and taken to the Kanathur police station, Police told Policeenwsplus.com Neelankarai Traffic Police Inspector Mr. Soundararajan said, “Special teams were formed to check bike and car racing on ECR after the general complained to the public, and more personnel have been posted in the early-morning hours since most racers use the stretch on weekends”, he said. High-end cars Porsche and a Ferrari, besides the Lamborghini were among the cars that were seized. The youngsters are from rich families and did not cooperate during enquiry, Police said.]]>
