<![CDATA[CHENNAI: Police in Tamil Nadu’s capital Chennai have solved a case of kidnapping of a three-and-a-half year old boy from the Government Stanley Hospital in just 30 hours after arresting the alleged kidnapper of the child. The footage from the Closed Circuit Television Camera (CCTV) that the Police scanned gave the clue in which a woman taking away the boy between 9.05 am and 10.30 am. Mr. S Jayakumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Washermanpet, said the incident was reported at 11.30 am on Wednesday. A special team was formed to scan the hospital premises for suspected movements, the DCP said. After examining all the 48 CCTV camera footage and zeroed in on nine camera footages after a exhausting 8-hour footage that led to identify the culprit,” he said. The woman picked the boy and escaped from the hospital in an auto, he said. On Thursday the abduction footage was released to media after which a tea vendor at Chinna Kodungaiyur recognized the boy and gave information to the Police. The woman kidnapper had come to the tea shop and the tea vendor called the Police and they rushed to the spot and rescued the child, Mr Jayakumar said. The kidnapper is M Subahani, 44 of Kamarajar Nagar, Ennore. The woman was mentally ill and had taken treatment, early investigations reveal. She had wheezing problem and visited Stanley hospital frequently for consultation. Subhani saw the boy crying and in the guise of pacifying him took him away to Moolakothalam by bus and later to Tondiarpet, where she had lunch and then went to her home at Kamarajar Nagar, the officer said. After watching the news about the kidnapper the house owner of Subhani, Vijayan identified the boy and warned her to hand him over to his parents. After this Subhani left the house and went to Chinna Kodungaiyur where Police arrested her. <strong> </strong> ]]>
