Rachakonda : People should be aware of cyber crimes.Youth should be careful with strangers on social media. A cyber crime awareness program was organized at Guru Nanak Educational Institutions in Ibrahimpatnam on Tuesday under the auspices of Commissioner Mr. DS Chauhas IPS Rachakonda Commissionerate and Rachakonda Security Council. Rachakonda Commissioner Mr. D.S. Chauhan IPS advised the IPS youth to be vigilant against cyber crimes and to be careful with strangers on social media.
The Police Commissioner said that in today’s modern technological era, many types of technological devices are being used for various purposes, and due to them, many victims are being harmed due to crimes committed in various ways. It is advised to keep the details of debit cards and credit cards safe and avoid using such cards as much as possible in places without proper cyber security. It is advised to be careful of fraudulent phone calls and messages claiming to have won money in the lottery. As far as possible, it is advised not to make any digital payments using unsecured public Wi-Fi.
He said that due to youth being careless especially on social media, they fall into the trap of cyber criminals and get cheated. Youths are advised to stay away from social media friendships with strangers and take care not to post their personal details and photos on social media accounts. He said that if you face any harassment on the internet, you should immediately inform the police and the police will do justice. If necessary, the police will keep the details of the victims confidential, he said.
