Bihta: On the night of 16.03.2023 information was received that Tushar Raj, aged about 12 years at Rajkishore village Kanholi, District-Patna, who had gone out to play at around 6:30 pm did not return home and his mobile was also switched off. In this context, a case was registered at Bihta police station on 16.03.2023. Taking this information very seriously a special team was, immediately formed by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Patna, under the leadership of the City Superintendent of Police, West Patna, in which the Assistant Superintendent of Police, Paliganj Police Station, Bihta, Naubatpur, Shahpur and Other policemen were involved. The team was continuously being directed by the Superintendent of Police, Patna, to recover the abducted child at the earliest.
A police team was continuously interrogating the friends and acquaintances of the abducted Tushar’s locality during the investigation of the case. The second team was continuously collecting intelligence from the staff and students of his school and coaching. Along with this, investigation and technical-cum-scientific research was also being carried out regarding the activities of the hijackers in the nearby cameras. A continuous search operation was being conducted around the technically established location of the hijacker. In the same sequence, an unknown burnt dead body was recovered near ESIC Hospital Police Station Bihta. Swan squad and FSL were also engaged in research at the dead body recovery site. Intelligence collection, interrogation of family members and witnesses, micro-examination of the recovered unknown dead body, swan-squad and technical-scientific research, the activities of Mukesh Kumar, Kishunpur police station Bihta district Patna during the incident seemed highly suspicious.
Under the direction of the immediate Senior Superintendent of Police, Patna, an intensive raid campaign was launched to arrest Mukesh Kumar. In this sequence, it was found that Mukesh Kumar, who was heavily in debt, was also absconding from his house for the past several days. Continuous raids were being conducted in Bihta, Naubatpur, Paliganj, Shahpur, Maner, Khagaul etc. in search of Mukesh. In this sequence, Mukesh Kumar was caught near Puri.
During the search, abducted Tushar Raj’s mobile and other evidence were also recovered from the accused. He was arrested and was intensively interrogated. Mukesh accepted his involvement in the incident and revealed that he used to run Priyanshu Education Point Coaching Institute Kanhauli and Vivekananda Memorial School Kanhauli which were closed in December-2022. In this venture, he had incurred a debt of about 20 lakh rupees. To repay the loan, it planned a kidnapping.
He was earlier the teacher of the kidnapped Tushar and his two sisters. On the day of the incident, late in the evening, he took Tushar into confidence and took him to a deserted place near ESIC Hospital, Bihta, where he was murdered immediately after abduction. The accused burnt the dead body to hide the identity. After this, from the night, the accused was continuously demanding a ransom of Rs 40 lakh and later Rs 30 lakh from the abducted relatives. Detailed investigation is also being carried out in relation to his other criminal histories and intensive inquiries are being done continuously. In this manner the case of abduction and murder of Tushar Raj of Kanhauli under Bihta police station on 16.03.23 was exposed by the Patna Police.
The arrested accused was identified as Mukesh Kumar s/o Bhagwan Pandey resident of Kishunpur under Kishunpur Police Station Bihta District Patna. The police recovered Mobile phones of the abducted child and other evidence.
